Useful information on bringing books from and to other libraries

Bringing a book from another library to the Library of the Warsaw School of Economics

  • The SGH library imports books from other libraries through interlibrary loans for SGH employees as well as students, doctoral students and postgraduate students of the SGH.
  • The library of the Warsaw School of Economics only imports books that are not available in its own collections and in the collections of other libraries based in Warsaw.
  • Imported books are available only in the Reading Room, preserving all the special requirements of the sending library.
  • The ordering user bears all costs related to bringing the book to the SGH Library.
  • The library of the Warsaw School of Economics does not provide interlibrary receipts.
  • The library of the Warsaw School of Economics does not import books from abroad. In this matter, please contact the National Library.

Borrowing a book from the SGH Library

  • Libraries located outside city of Warsaw may borrow books from the Warsaw School of Economics Library after submitting a written application for opening an account, signed by the director or manager of the library, authorizing them to sign the recipt and collect the borrowed books.
  • As part of interlibrary loans, libraries may borrow a maximum of 5 books from the Warsaw School of Economics at the same time for a period of 30 days.
  • Libraries may make books brought from the Warsaw School of Economics available only at their premises, in the reading room.

  • The library of the Warsaw School of Economics does not borrow old prints, manuscripts, archival copies, as well as bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral dissertations as part of interlibrary loans.
