- A student studying at SGH Warsaw School of Economics in more than one field of study is granted dean’s leave simultaneously in all studied fields.
- During the leave of absence period, the student retains a valid student ID.
- A student returning from the dean’s leave is obliged to submit a student declaration for the next semester.
Failure to submit a declaration on time shall be deemed to be a failure to undertake studies. - During the period when the student is on the dean’s leave, no tuition fees are charged.
- The student should apply for dean’s leave immediately after the occurrence of reason on which the leave is based.
Short-term Leave
Short-term leave lasts up to 6th weeks. Granting short-term leave is tantamount to exempting the student from classes taking place during this leave.
Long-term Leave
Long-term leave lasts a semester or two consecutive semesters. It can be granted after passing the semester of studies, and before the beginning of the semester to which the application relates.
Granting a long-term leave of absence extends the planned duration of studies by the duration of the granted leave.
A long-term leave excludes passing courses during its duration.
Health Leave
You can also apply for health leave for the semester preceding the submission of the application and for a period longer than a semester, if the medical certificate indicates such a necessity.
A health leave is granted on the basis of submitted medical documentation or or opinion of a medical board issued by a healthcare unit cooperating with the SGH Warsaw School of Economics (in the case of referral by the dean).
Prticipation in classes and passing courses during the period of health leave requires the consent of the dean.
Request for leave
The application for leave should be addressed to the dean.
The application should be accompanied by documents confirming its content.
