Researcher and lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics since 1996. An alumnus of transport economists Prof. Eufemia Teichmann and Prof. Włodzimierz Januszkiewicz. In 2001, he obtained a PhD degree in economics for defending his dissertation entitled “The impact of the accession of Polish to the European Union on the road freight transport market”.
In 2015, he obtained the degree of habilitated doctor of economic sciences in the discipline of economics on the basis of the book entitled “Competition between road and rail transport in Poland in the light of shaping the rational branch structure of cargo transport”.
Currently, he is a university professor at the Institute of World Economy.
He specializes in Transport, Freight Forwarding & Logistics market research and economic relations Polish with Germany. In addition, he is interested in pathologies in health care and justice. Author and co-author of over a hundred scientific and popularizing publications. He conducts didactic classes mainly in the field of transport economics, international forwarding and logistics in Polish, German and English.
Founder and head of Postgraduate Studies in Transport and Freight Forwarding conducted under the patronage and in co-operation with the General Inspectorate of Road Transport in Poland (GITD), the Polish International Freight Forwarders Association (PISiL), the International Road Carriers Association in Poland (ZMPD), the Road Transport Employer’s Association of Poland (OZPTD) and the Association of Employers „Transport and Logistics Poland” (ZP TLP). Scientific supervisor of the Transport, Freight Forwarding & Logistics Student Scientific Club at the Warsaw School of Economics.
Member of the Polish Association of Transport Engineers & Technicians of the Republic of Poland (SITK RP) and the Association of Polish Journalists (SDP). He worked for the Central Examination Commission in Warsaw (CKE) as an expert and coordinator of professional exams in the following professions: Freight Forwarding Technician, Port and Terminal Operation Technician, Logistics Technician. He cooperated with the editorial committee of the magazine „Material Management and Logistics”.
Winner of five individual and team awards for scientific achievements. In 2006, he was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński for achievements in scientific, didactic and organizational work for the Warsaw School of Economics. In 2011, he was selected to the group of „100 Faces of Polish Logistics” by the magazine „Logistics and Quality”.
Privately, a passionate singer and avid chess player. He has a professional diploma of opera and operetta singer. Co-founder, soloist and tutor of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Warsaw School of Economics in the years 2004–2006. Organizer of the first SGH Chess Championship on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Warsaw School of Economics, in which he took the first place in the category of lecturers.
