The “Centre for Ukrainian Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics” project was initiated in the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics decision No. 84 of 12 December 2023.
The project was launched at the Institute of Econometrics (Collegium of Economic Analysis). The total implementation time is three years (from 12 December 2023 to 30 December 2026).
The Centre develops scientific analyses of relations between Poland and Ukraine. The results of these analyses are publications and recommendations for cooperation in the economy, science and social issues, as well as applications for grants.
In 2024, 7 academic collaborators and 2 administrative employees cooperated with the Center.
The Center’s collaborators meet:
- individually, virtually, at least twice a week, working out their own studies,
- as the team in scientific organizational matters, virtually every week,
- presenting the results of research in a working mode, every month.
The Centre’s collaborators present substantive studies prepared together with scholars from Poland and Ukraine and presented in the form of a self-edited publishing series. These studies are edited and published on the Internet on the website of the Warsaw School of Economics in three language versions – in Polish, Ukrainian and English. The Center’s collaborators also conduct remote research or classes in Ukraine (mainly Kiev) and in Warsaw and outside Warsaw (Krakow, Poznań, Zielona Góra).
