Prof. Dominik Gajewski, PhD Professor of Social Sciences in the Discipline of Law; Head of the Department of Tax Law at SGH and the Center for Tax Analysis and Studies at SGH.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at UMCS in Lublin and the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom. He has also completed internships at the University of Illinois, Humboldt University in Berlin, Université de Paris V, and Columbia University.
Biography
Professor of Social Sciences in the Discipline of Law; Head of the Department of Tax Law at SGH and the Center for Tax Analysis and Studies at SGH.

Professor Gajewski is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at UMCS in Lublin and the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom. He has also completed internships at the University of Illinois, Humboldt University in Berlin, Université de Paris V, and Columbia University.

He serves as the Head of the Economic Analysis Team in the Office of Jurisprudence of the Supreme Administrative Court. He is a judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, adjudicating in the Financial Chamber on tax matters. From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the Tax Law Advisory Board to the Minister of Finance. In 2016, he was appointed to the Council for Counteracting Tax Avoidance at the Ministry of Finance. He has served as an expert for the European Commission in developing strategies to combat international tax avoidance and is an expert for Team Europe at the European Commission Representation in Poland.

Furthermore, he is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Analizy i Studia CASP” and the author of over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications (including seven monographs) on international and national tax law. He is also the Head of the SGH Postgraduate Studies in Taxes in Domestic and International Business Transactions.

From 2003 to 2016, he was an attorney and legal advisor. His areas of interest and specialization include interdisciplinary tax law, international and EU tax law, economic analysis of tax law, strategies for counteracting international tax avoidance, and advanced tax engineering.

In 2017, he was nominated and subsequently won the 2016 Person of the Year Poll by the readers of Gazeta Wyborcza in the business category for promoting the idea of counteracting international tax avoidance.
