POLAND IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. BALANCE OF BENEFITS

On December 12, 2023, the Scientific Conference “Poland in the European Union. Balance of benefits. 20 years of membership 2004-2024” was organized.

Poland began its systemic transformation as one of the economically weakest post-socialist countries. At that time, clear signposts towards market reforms and systemic transformation made Poland move towards the standards of Western Europe. In 1994, Poland applied for accession to the European Union and joined the Community ten years later. In 2024, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this participation, which is worth summarizing in terms of the benefits of our presence in the EU for Poland’s development, but also the opportunities to set goals and challenges for subsequent periods.

Conference organizers:

  • Institute of Statistics and Demography, Collegium of Economic Analysis, Warsaw School of Economics
  • Department of European Integration and Legal Studies, Collegium of World Economy, Warsaw School of Economics
  • Institute of Expert Debate and Analysis – QUANT TANK
