Fields of research of the Department of European Integration and Legal Studies:
- Conditions, fields and possible effects of the development of the European integration (economic, legal, political, institutional; perspectives for deepening integration within the EU Internal Market; perspectives for changes in the EU financing system; directions of changes of the Common Commercial Policy (CCP), the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Cohesion Policy; the energy and climate policy; the budgetary and tax policy; the industrial policy, the competition policy and the state aid policy; further EU’s enlargement; ensuring the resilience of the EU economy as well as EU’s relations with third countries;
- Directions of the changes in the international regulatory system for international cooperation (within the WTO and other international organisations): the need for new WTO activities in a global crisis situation, the effectiveness of current WTO instruments and proposals for new measures; functioning of regional integration groupings in the world, including the trade ones;
- Comparative studies of the economies of the EU Member States and third countries, with particular emphasis on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Asia;
- Studies on the universal system of international law and subsystems of international law. Research on changes in the catalogue of legal entities and norms co-creating the system of international law. Research on the conditions, directions and effects of the constitutionalization of the international law system, as well as fragmentation of international law.
