The Institute of Enterprise at the Warsaw School of Economics, founded in 2006 with roots dating back to 1972, is a scientific and educational unit.

The Institute of Enterprise at the Warsaw School of Economics, established in 2006 with roots dating back to 1972, initially focused on macroeconomic research, evolving towards businesses and their development. Its main research areas include entrepreneurship development, competitiveness of firms and regions, and the investment attractiveness of Polish regions.

The Institute produces annual investment reports, publishes in scientific journals, and presents findings at conferences. It focuses on modern enterprises, their environment, innovation, and their impact on the economy. It collaborates with businesses to bridge theory with practice, educating both students and business leaders. The Institute organizes projects and conferences such as the Forum Gmin na 5 (Communes ranked at 5: the Forum), Żagle Biznesu (Business Sails), Family Business Day, and Coaching Conference.

Within the structure of the Institute of Enterprise, there are three departments:

  • Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Unit
  • Family Business Unit
  • Innovation Management Unit

We are not only researchers but also practitioners with years of experience and passion. In our educational process, we combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience to develop competent management personnel for the most advanced and dynamically developing enterprises in Poland. We conduct classes and seminars across most undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as in postgraduate and MBA studies. During our sessions, we employ various tools that go beyond standard frameworks, facilitating a cognitive approach to entrepreneurship and management.

We are continuously open to cooperation with business representatives and other researchers, expanding our network of individuals, enterprises, and institutions for mutual exchange of experiences, sharing research results, and fostering long-term collaborations.
