Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics, Professor Tomasz Szapiro, established the Institute of Banking and Insurance.
From 1 May 2013, the Department of Banking and Insurance was transformed into the Institute of Banking and Insurance. Existing units have been dissolved.
Since May 1, 2013 following units have been established at the Institute:
• Department of Risk and Insurance,
• Banking and Financial System Security Unit,
• Retail and Corporate Banking Unit,
• Speculations and Investments on Financial Markets Unit.
In May 2017, the name of the Institute was changed to the Institute of Risk and Financial Markets.
