A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in the field of International Economic Relations. Doctor of Science in the discipline of economics.

She has over 20 years of professional experience at the Warsaw School of Economics. Previously, several years at the Customs Office and private universities. As an energy market specialist, she participated in many initiatives, projects and councils accompanying changes taking place in the energy market.

Her scientific interests include the broadly understood functioning of energy markets, with particular emphasis on their spatial dimension. Scientific research and publications focus on areas such as: conditions for the development of energy markets in the context of sustainable development, energy security or energy transformation.

Assistant professor at the Department of Economic Geography
 

A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, majoring in International Relations. He defended his doctorate in 2014 in the discipline of economics and finance. He received his postdoctoral degree in February 2024.

He worked for over 5 years at the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP), dealing with international affairs. Currently, he has been working at the Central Statistical Office (GUS) for over 10 years, in the Department of Macroeconomic Studies and Finance, where he deals with macroeconomic research of the economy, in particular accounting for economic growth. His most important achievement is the development of the methodology and implementation of the KLEMS productivity calculation in Polish statistics.

Research interests mainly include issues related to accounting for economic growth, with particular emphasis on its spatial dimension, i.e. regional distribution of economic growth, including its factor and sectoral decomposition. In addition to purely macroeconomic studies, research is related to broadly understood regionalism, including the power sector, transport infrastructure, real estate market, development of cities and regions, spatial functioning of PKD sectors in the light of the KLEMS account.
 

dr Ewelina Florczak

Assistant Professor at the Department of Economic Geography

Doctor of Economics – Warsaw School of Economics 2015, based on the doctoral dissertation entitled Social enterprise in the local environment.

 

Has over 10 years of experience in academic work (didactic and scientific). Previous position - assistant professor at Lazarski University in Warsaw.

 

Scientific interests include broadly understood social conditions of economic activity, social entrepreneurship, social infrastructure, including their spatial perspective.

Supervisor of approx. 150 diploma theses (bachelor’s and master’s). Author of over 40 scientific publications.

 

Teaching experience in the field of financial analysis, project management, socio-economic policy.

Scientific research focuses on areas such as: sustainable development, economics and social entrepreneurship, social impact of economic activity.

Graduate of the Main School of Planning and Statistics (SGPiS) in Warsaw, currently the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) at the Faculty of Production Economics, currently the College of Business Administration (KNoP).

In the years 1993-1998 a researcher at the Department of Enterprise Analysis (KNoP), where he dealt with human resources management in enterprises.

Since October 1, 1998 a researcher at the Department of Economic Geography (KNoP).

In the years 2012-2013 a researcher at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw at the Faculty of Tourism and Recreation, Department of Local and Regional Development.

Scientific interests: economic security of enterprises, marketing of tourist services, human resources management in a tourist enterprise, geography of tourism, local development.

Research specialization: economic security of tourism enterprises, sustainable development of tourism enterprises, human resources management, marketing in tourism.
He combines his scientific work with practice in the tourism business (advisor in the recruitment process of employees in tourism enterprises in Poland) and numerous travels around the world (visited 46 countries on 4 continents).

At SGH he has been teaching classes since the academic year 1993/1994: Personnel marketing (in the years 1998-2008), Personnel policy (in the academic year 1994/1995), Human resources management, Economic geography, Geography of tourism, Marketing of tourist and recreational services as well as a bachelor’s seminar and a master’s seminar.
Nominated twice by SGH Students in the Inspiration of the Year competition for teaching activities.

Assistant Professor at the Department of Economic Geography

A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics in the field of International Economic and Political Relations, postgraduate studies in the field of pedagogical improvement of academic teachers and postgraduate studies Local Government Energy Manager (at the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw). Doctor of Economics in the discipline of economics, specialization: economic geography (doctoral dissertation prepared under the scientific supervision of prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Kuciński entitled “Structural conditions for the development of technologically advanced economic activity”). Supervisor of diploma theses (in Polish and English) at first and second cycle studies at SGH.

In 2022, nominated by SGH Students for teaching activity in the “Inspiration of the Year” competition.

He gained his professional experience in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (where, under the supervision of Professor Antoni Kukliński, he worked to popularize and develop a knowledge-based economy in Poland), the Masovian Regional Planning Office in Warsaw (Siedlce Branch) and the Warsaw School of Economics, the Helena Chodkowska University of Management and Law (Płońsk Branch), as well as the University of Customs and Logistics in Warsaw. In the years 2010-2015, he was an expert at: the Barka Mutual Aid Foundation in Poznań; the Mirosław Dzielski Institute of Finance and Banking in Kraków; and the Pro Publico Bono Institute of Civil Society.

His scientific interests include the location of high-tech activities; geopolitical and institutional conditions for development; local and regional development. His research concerns research areas such as: innovative activity and economic security of enterprises.

Decorated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Poland with the Honorary Blood Donor - Meritorious for the Health of the Nation badge. Popularizer of the game of backgammon.

A graduate of the Poznań University of Economics and the Warsaw School of Economics. Doctor of Social Sciences in the discipline of economics and finance.

He has over ten years of expert and managerial experience, gained in the largest financial market institutions, such as BNP Paribas and Citibank Europe, and in financial market infrastructure institutions, such as the National Clearing House or the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

His scientific interests include the broadly understood functioning of financial markets and energy markets. Author of numerous publications on the issues of energy security, the functioning of energy markets, the formation of energy commodity prices, as well as the issue of decarbonization and energy transformation.

A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in Finance and Accounting and postgraduate studies in Quantitative Methods in Financial Market Analysis. Doctor of Science in the discipline of economics and finance. Winner of the competition for the President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Award for the best doctoral thesis on the capital market in 2023 (2nd place). In 2024, he took 2nd place in the “Inspiration of the Year” competition for the most inspiring lecturer at SGH.

He has over 10 years of professional experience in key financial market infrastructure institutions in Poland, including: the National Depository for Securities (KDPW), the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), the Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG), the National Economy Bank (BGK) and the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (UKNF).

His scientific interests include the broadly understood functioning of financial systems, with particular emphasis on their spatial dimension (i.e. financial geography). His research focuses on areas such as: the importance of financial markets in the context of the functioning of the economy, financial stability and sustainable finance.
