Admissions step by step to undergraduate studies for international applicants

If you wish to successfully apply to studies in English at SGH as an international applicant, please read the following step-by-step guide on the admission process. SGH Warsaw School of Economics has only one intake per year which takes place around June.

Undergraduate studies (first-cycle) last six semesters and lead to licencjat (equivalent of bachelor's degree).

Creating a personal account in the Internet Registration System (ISR) will be possible in June 2025.

Registration for English programmes (main round of admission): from 24 June 2025 to 24 July 2025.

1. REGISTER IN THE ON-LINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM

  1. create an account and fill in the forms in the on-line registration system (ISR): start with your basic personal data and contact address;
  2. select which cycle of study you wish to apply for;
  3. upload a photo of yourself – choose it carefully as we will use it in your student ID card;
  4. pay the application fee (85 PLN);
  5. create the list of fields of study you are interested in and arrange them according to your preferences (top choice being the most desired);
  6. upload scans of your educational documents and the certificate confirming your knowledge of English (to see the accepted documents go to the tab “How to demonstrate your English proficiency”);
  7. once you complete the above steps, including the upload of the documents marked as ‘obligatory’, submit your scans for verification by clicking the button “Submit for verification”)

After you have submited your scans for verification, we will need a couple of days to verify them - you will see the outcome of the verification process in the document upload tab in the registration system. In case we have any doubts or require some additional documents, we will contact you.

At this stage of the admission process, you do not need to upload translations or legalizations. However, you will have to deliver them to our office when you submit the original documents (usually late September).

2. ACCEPT THE OFFER LETTER

Once the scans are verified and accepted, you will receive an offer letter. To accept it, you will have to fill out some additional information in ISR. You will have to upload the signed application form too.

IMPORTANT: After you take the above mentioned steps, you need to click again: SUBMIT FOR VERIFICATION

3. WAIT FOR YOUR DECISION ON ADMISSION

The decision on admission signed by our Rector together with the letter of acceptance can be collected personally or by the applicant’s representative, otherwise, we will send it to the correspondence address indicated on ISR. If you were granted a place in the dorm, you will get the confirmation of your reservation too.

4. READ THE INFORMATION FOR FRESHMAN STUDENTS

Remember to choose courses acccording to the schedule of semester declarations (declarations for 1st semester) - login and password to student systems will be sent via mail until end of August.

5. PAY THE TUITION FEE

You have until September 30 to cover at least the first instalment of your tuition. If you wish to cover the payment in advance because of the visa procedures, you can do so. Contact the Admissions Office to receive the bank details.

6. SUBMIT THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS & JOIN THE ORIENTATION DAYS

After your arrival to Poland, you need to submit all documents listed on your decision on admission. At the end of September SGH Student Union organize Orientation for freshman students.

7. CHECK IF YOU NEED TO START THE RECOGNITION PROCESS OF YOUR HIGH-SCHOOL DIPLOMA

Your decision on admission includes the list of documents that you need to submit at the Admissions Office. Check if you need to provide the “decision of the Polish education superintendent” - it depends on the country that had issued your school leaving certificate. If so, it is really important that you start the process before you arrive in Poland. The rules to obtain student’s visa have changed in July 2024. You can find more information in the tab
