About the CGMA Professional Qualification
The CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accounting) Professional Qualification, offered by CIMA, is highly relevant solution and a unique solution on the Polish market, combining finance and business. The CGMA qualification program is developed by CIMA in collaboration with global employers to best meet their current and future needs. This qualification provides a set of essential professional tools for making strategic and operational business decisions and prepares candidates exceptionally well for work in the financial sector, regardless of their role. Renowned for its prestige, the CGMA qualification stands out as a valuable distinction in the job market. Furthermore, as candidates advance through the qualification, their career prospects steadily improve. Salaries can increase as early as the start of their studies, and research indicates that over a 10-year period, this growth can exceed 100% („Goldman Recruitment Salary Survey 2019”, 2019).
The CGMA University Program at SGH is open to students of Bachelor and Master programs as a part of the interdisciplinary specialization SGH & CIMA. Students who complete all required courses at the university are exempt from certain CIMA’s examinations, and upon successful completion of the relevant CGMA exam, they can obtain a Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) or a Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA), which are the official steps towards completing the CGMA Professional Qualification and obtaining the CGMA designation.
How it works?
If you are a Bachelor’s student, join the program from the third semester of studies. After passing all the subjects required by CIMA at your university, you will be exempt from three CGMA exams. You will only need to pass one external exam - BA2 - Fundamentals of Management Accounting. This is a two-hour computer test (Objective Test), which is available on demand throughout the year. Along with the first degree diploma, the student receives the CGMA Certificate in Business Accounting and can use the title CGMA Cert BA.
If you are a Master’s student, join the program from the first semester of studies. The interdisciplinary specialization SGH & CIMA is offered in two tracks: Finance and Accounting, and Management, but it is open to Master’s students studying any major at SGH. After passing all the subjects required by CIMA, you will be exempt from three CGMA exams. To complete the Operational level, you only need to pass an external exam - Operational Case Study. This is a three-hour case study exam, held four times a year (February, May, August, November). Along with the second degree diploma, the student receives the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting and can use the title CIMA Dip MA.

- Create and activate your account
Create and activate your account - Complete the application form and enclose the required documents.
- Wait for the positive verification of the application by the University Coordinator and AICPA & CIMA.
- Receive further instructions on how to register with AICPA & CIMA and pay 99 GBP registration fee received in a confirmation email.
