Students, who wish to obtain recognition of grades obtained in SGH

Dean’s Instruction on the Recognition of Grades from Courses Completed in Bachelor’s Programmes at SGH Warsaw School of Economics (in force from 1 October 2025)
  1. This Instruction applies to individuals who have been successfully admitted  to the  Bachelor’s programme and who were previously students of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, or are currently studying in another field of study at SGH, and who apply in a given academic year for the recognition of learning outcomes from courses completed during their previous studies at SGH.
  2. The student submits an application for the recognition of learning outcomes (transfer of grades) for individual courses using the appropriate application form available in the USOS system.
  3. The application should include a list of courses with their course codes, course titles, and corresponding ECTS credits.
  4. Grades from courses completed during previous studies may be recognised if all of the following conditions are met:
  • no more than eight years have passed since the completion of the course,
  • in the case of a second or subsequent admission to studies, i.e. since the last commencement of studies, the student has demonstrated significant academic progress,
  • the course codes, titles, and corresponding ECTS credits are consistent with the current curriculum,
  • there have been no substantial changes in the course syllabuses, particularly with regard to the intended learning outcomes or the form of assessment.
  1. In the case of recognised courses, the Dean may assign the student to a higher semester, depending on the number of ECTS credits accumulated and level of advancement in the programme of study. The student is obliged to declare the field of study (major).
  2. The deadlines for submitting applications for newly admitted students are announced by the Dean in the schedule of course declarations for the winter semester of the given academic year. For students of higher semesters, the deadline for submitting applications expires two weeks before the end of the first stage of semester declarations (preference stage) for the given semester.

This Instruction enters into force on 1 October 2025.


Students, who wish to obtain recognition of grades obtained outside SGH 

Instruction on the recognition of grades for course taken outside SGH (in force from 20th December 2024)

With reference to § 12.7 of the Rules and Regulations the following rules are introduced:

1. a student shall apply for the recognition of grades obtained outside SGH through the USOS system. In order to apply for the transfer of a subject completed within the five academic years preceding the commencement of the procedure is:
 • attaching to the application the syllabus of the completed course along with information on its time dimension,
 • confirmation of the grade obtained in the examination (certificate issued by the relevant dean’s office),
 • attaching a positive opinion of the subject coordinator at SGH.

2. The deadline for submitting a complete application to rewrite grades in a semester is 21 days before the beginning of the semester in question.

3. A grade may be transferred only if the student is not enrolled in the current semester in a given subject, unless enrolment in the subject results from §12.2 of Rules and Regulations.
