The main goal of the study is to determine if the psychological intervention (the motivational talk) can affect the level of sense of coherence and epistemic motivation and whether it increases the odds of labour force participation among the inactive people.
The research question we focus on refers to estimating how the level of sense of coherence determines the labour force participation and whether short psychological intervention – motivational talk – can affect the level of sense of coherence and epistemic motivation and by that whether it affects labour force participation of the inactive people. Within the study we try to identify the causal relationship between the psychological intervention and labour force participation of the inactive people.
For the purpose of the study the level of sense of coherence will be measured twice among inactive people (and among unemployed – for control purposes) and a half of inactive people (randomly assigned) will participate in a motivational talk – psychological intervention. Proper quantitative methods will be used to identify the relationship between the level of sense of coherence (and its potential changes and labour force participation (including transition from non-participation to the labour force) of the inactive people.
