The Race Toward an Uncertain Future: The Significance of Technological Competition in Assessing Uncertainty in Capital Markets

The aim of the study is to identify and assess the impact of geopolitical events on the level of uncertainty in capital markets, with a particular focus on the semiconductor sector. The research also seeks to gain an in-depth understanding of the influence of geopolitical risk on capital markets, investor behavior, and firm valuation within specific sectors, as well as the overall stability of capital markets through the lens of uncertainty drivers and technological competition.

The analysis aims to evaluate the effects of the technological war on the valuation of semiconductor companies in China and the United States, as well as to assess its impact on investor behavior and risk perception in capital markets. The project is intended to provide insights into the complex dynamics of the Sino-American technological war and its effects on the semiconductor sector, as well as to develop recommendations for investors in this sector to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities arising from this situation. This will be achieved using capital market data, sentiment analysis through textual data, and other machine learning tools and methods.

The expected outcomes of the study will provide investors and analysts with practical guidance in risk management and investment decision-making.
